Launching Elevate Creative Events

I’m happy, and a little nervous, that it’s time to tell you about a project I’ve been working on for the past couple of months. In partnership with my friend Antonia Taylor, I’m really (very) excited to announce the launch of Elevate, a series of creative live events and workshops.

We’ll be announcing the date and details of our first workshop next week.

What’s workshopping to us?

Basically, the idea came about because Toni and I have attended lots of live learning events ourselves. We passionately believe in the benefits they can bring to yourself and your business. We also have our own ideas about how to make them really great value for those who attend.

Working alone and for yourself is flexible and liberating. But it can also be overwhelming and lonely. Getting out and attending events, where you can hear from inspiring experts and meet like-minded people, has really made the difference to – elevated – our careers. And it’s just fun.

Launching Elevate Creative Events, with Helen Perry (Not About The Kids) and Antonia Taylor (Antonia Taylor PR)

For me personally, attending one-off seminars and social media workshops helped me begin to build a new career, after 7 years as a full-time mum. It gave me the confidence and skills I needed to start my own brand, Not About The Kids.

Now I can share what I have learnt with other people.

And what to expect

We plan to design a range of events collaborating with different, brilliant experts.

There will be learning, and chatting and meeting new people. There will be coffee, snacks, lunches and goody bags. It should be a day out, away from all the usual distractions, to gain some perspective and inspiration.

I will deliver talks on various aspects of social media marketing and communication, particularly Instagram. Antonia will bring her expertise as a PR specialist and founder of Antonia Taylor PR.
